I'm new at this...

So new in fact that I have already done this post, and have lost it in the process, so I will try it again! ha ha!! I never thought I would have a blog, probably since I don't think I'm interesting enough to have one. I still don't think I'm interesting, but I think it will be fun to 'journal' my way through being a new mommy... <3 If anything else, will be another way to look back and smile.

October 6, 2011 was the best day of my entire life.......
I was given the best gift and blessing. Dane William Erixon was born at 1:26 p.m. welcoming us via c-section. Although I say it was the best DAY of my life, the morning of October 6th, wasn't a cake walk. After hours or pushing and 'no progression' the doctor thought it was best to go for a c-section. I wasn't opposed, as I was so exhausted, frustrated, and wanted him out!
Did I mention that he was due October 1st, so I was ready and antsy to FINALLY meet him! Being pregnant is a beautiful thing, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit frustrating when 'the due date' that you have been counting down to, comes and goes.... but the baby is still inside. Seeing him for the first time, and knowing that he belongs to you is the best feeling in the whole world. He's changing each and every day, and in a selfish way want to stop the clock to freeze these moments forever.  Time has gone by too fast... it seems like I have blinked, and now magically he is 7 weeks old... could it be the lack of consistent sleep that makes me unaware of the date on the calendar? Could possibly be! :) It's all worth it, I enjoy spending every moment with him, even if it is 3 am!

So let's skip ahead and now Dane is 7 weeks old, smiling and giggling, cooing.. it's just the best! I could stare at this face all day... Bret insists on making his hair into a mo-hawk! He's bald on either side of it, so I guess we are 'working with what he's got'. The other day, we went to dinner at Oregano's and the server said, "Wow, that boy is SO cool, he was BORN with a mo-hawk". pretty funny.
